- We have some amazing announcements and all of this is related to NACO West, our national summit with a regional focus that's taking place on March 30th and 31st. So two days of conversations at the intersection of entrepreneurship, capital and innovation. And the discussions are, they're significant as it relates to shaping the future of Canada's economic recovery. We've had some amazing, amazing people that have joined this event. We know that angel investment continues to be unevenly distributed across Canada and our national funding ecosystem has critical gaps, hindering the emergence of high-growth companies. So extraordinary success stories coming out of every part of Canada, but we can do better. What's happening next week is that we have a dynamic virtual event that includes engaging thought leaders, it includes peer-to-peer networking, interactive round table discussions, and actionable workshops. We've tried to make this truly interactive and we have a virtual showcase of some amazing success stories that are coming out of Western Canada. One of them, for example, is The Untold Story of SkipTheDishes, with Chris Simair, the co-founder of SkipTheDishes, who's also building Harvest Builders. Sandra Foster, she is an angel investor that was in SkipTheDishes, and so there's a really great story there. We have Charles Plant, founder of The Narwhal Project speaking to how $27 billion was created by made in Vancouver success story Slack. Then we have John Stackhouse, author of "Planet Canada," speaking to how we can leverage our nation's global citizens to build a truly world class ecosystem that is massively globally competitive. Raine Maida (laughs), lead singer of Our Lady Peace, will be talking about NFTs, so the new craze that's eclipsing bitcoin, non-fungible tokens, and how that's going to impact the creative space. I had a really good discussion with Ray Walia, he is the CEO at Launch Academy, on mobilizing capital along the Pacific Coast, and so cross-border perspective there. I had a great discussion on Igniting the $100 billion Indigenous Economy with Carol Anne Hilton, founder of The Indigenomics Institute, and Jonathon Redbird. We also cover topics like what lessons can we learn on building a world class innovation ecosystem. Laura Kilcrease, CEO at Alberta Innovates, joined me with Brad Zumwalt, president and partner at Zinc Ventures, who's also spearheading, you know, a driving force behind the Platform innovation center. For those of you that are in other parts of the country, like Toronto, Platform innovation center is effectively a hub of activity that we envision as being the center of NACO's place in Western Canada and Alberta. Then we have a discussion

on Beyond Capital:

Mentoring the Innovation Economy. Brice Scheschuk from Globalive that many of you will know, and Joelle Foster, CEO of North Forge Technology Exchange, engage in that discussion. Raising Canada's Largest Venture Fund for BIPOC Founders is Sheldon James, CEO and managing partner at Bay Mills Investment Group. They made the headlines, they were featured in Forbes on the amazing work that they're doing. And I had a great discussion with Bryan Buggey at Vancouver Economic Commission and he had some really interesting insights on a number of areas. So we have many, many more amazing speakers. I cannot cover them all, but it's an exciting event and we hope that you will join us. There is no cost to attend and this is truly a national summit with a regional focus so that we can build a truly nationally connected ecosystem, break down regional silos, and really help Canada to take the top spot as the world's leading innovation economy. I look forward to seeing you all there and thank you so much to the many, many partners that have supported this event.
